Curriculum Vitae

Andreas Schittny graduated at the University of Basel as a Master in Pharmacy and obtained his federal diploma as pharmacist in 2014. He conducted his master thesis at Novartis AG in the formulation of parenteral nanomedicine (“Microfluidic Production of Intravenous Administered, Biodegradable Polymer Nanoparticles for Passive Drug Targeting: Feasibility Study, Method Development and Formulation Screening”). After graduation, he worked in the sterile production of chemotherapeutics in the hospital pharmacy of the University Hospital of Basel as well as in a community pharmacy.

He joined the research groups of Prof. J. Huwyler (Pharmaceutical Technology) and Prof. S. Krähenbühl (Clinical Pharmacology) as PhD-Student in February 2016. His work focuses on the advanced understanding of drug delivery in form of amorphous solid dispersions produced by hot-melt extrusion to improve the bioavailability of low-soluble drugs.
