Curriculum Vitae

Riccardo Mancuso graduated in the MSc Biotechnology in 2011 at the University of Palermo, Italy. During his studies, he carried out his master thesis with an Erasmus fellowship at the Chemistry and Bioanalytics Laboratory of the School of Life Sciences FHNW in Basel, Switzerland, where he worked on the establishment of highly efficient transfection protocols for recombinant protein production in HEK293 and CHO cell lines, under the guidance of Dr. Ronald Tynes. Before starting his PhD studies, he worked at Chemistry and Bioanalytics Laboratory of the School of Life Sciences FHNW.

He did his PhD studies from 2013-2016 in the group of Prof. Stephan Krähenbühl at the Department of Clinical Pharmacology & Toxicology, University Hospital of Basel, where he continued his investigations as post-doctoral fellow. His project is in close cooperation with the company AlloCyte Pharmaceuticals AG.

He joined the research group of Molecular Pharmacy in July 2020 as an associated group member. His work is focused on the discovery and pre-clinical development of novel integrin inhibitors.
