Patrick Imfeld was born on September 30, 1977 in Lucerne, Switzerland. He attended Pharmacy School at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, where he graduated in 2005 and obtained his Swiss Federal Pharmacist's Diploma. After working for two years in a community pharmacy, he attended a post-graduate Master's program at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, UK, where he received his Master's Degree in Clinical Pharmacy in 2009. Subsequently he joined the Basel Pharmacoepidemiology Unit of Prof. Christoph Meier at the University of Basel, where he completed his PhD in 2012 on the topic of Alzheimer's disease. He now works as a clinical pharmacist at the University Hospital in Basel and continues to do research in the field of pharmacoepidemiology in the research group of Prof. Christoph Meier.
