Michael Weingartner studied Pharmacy (MSc) at the University of Basel and obtained a federal diploma as a pharmacist in 2015. He conducted his master’s thesis at the Pharmaceutical Technology group of Prof. Jörg Huwyler. The main purpose of his thesis was the investigation of mucoadhesive microcarriers using chitosan coated drug loaded FCC particles. After graduation, he worked in a community pharmacy in Kriens (LU). In April 2017, he joined Prof. Alex Odermatt’s group as a PhD-Student. His project focuses on endoplasmic reticulum redox regulation and its impact on cellular energy metabolism and cell growth control.
