Sarah Ramos Charlier
Sarah Charlier was born in São Paulo, Brazil, and moved to Switzerland with her family as a child. She studied pharmacy at the University of Basel and spent half a year at the Griffith University at the Gold Coast, Australia, where she wrote her Master’s thesis. She received her MSc in Pharmacy and the Swiss Federal Pharmacist’s Diploma from the University of Basel.
She started working at Novartis and later joined the Basel Pharmacoepidemiology Unit at the University of Basel under the direction of Prof. Dr. Christoph R. Meier. In her PhD thesis, she researches the influence of various diabetes treatments and treatment objectives on several diabetes outcomes, such as fractures, diabetic retinopathy, and renal failure.
