Nova Syafni obtained her Master’s degree in Pharmacy at Andalas University, West Sumatra, Indonesia in November 2012. She conducted her master thesis on “Antioxidant and Antimicrobial Screening of West Sumatran Ferns and Isolation of Major Compounds of Paku Ruman (Trichomanes chinense L.) under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Dayar Arbain. She joined the research group at Sumatran Biota Laboratory, Andalas University, Padang, Indonesia as technical assistant since 2008 and joined the research group of the Institute Pharmaceutical Biology at University of Basel as PhD student in November 2016.
