Alem Storani graduated in Biotechnology in 2016 at the Universidad del Litoral (UNL), Argentina. In 202e he obtained his PhD, under the guidance of Dr. Alberto A. Iglesias at the Coastal Institute of Agrobiotechnology (IAL-CONICET-UNL). During his PhD he worked on the development of molecular tools for biorefinery strategies, obtaining, purifying and characterizing enzymes for lignocellulose degradation.

In April 2023 he joined the Molecular Pharmacy group at the University of Basel as post-doctoral fellow working under supervision of Dr. Rachel Hevey. The project research focuses on the development of glycan-based antimicrobial therapies.
