Delia Bornand studied Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Basel, and graduated in 2001 with a Masters Diploma in Pharmacy and the Swiss Federal Diploma. She is working at the university hospital pharmacy in Basel since 2003 and made the FPH in Hospital Pharmacy in 2006, followed by the FPH in Clinical Pharmacy in 2010 after she made the «Certificate in Pharmacy Practice» in Tübingen. She is head of the clinical pharmacy at the university hospital Basel since 2010 to build up this new department in the hospital.

She joined the Basel Pharmacoepidemiology Unit at the Division of Clinical Pharmacy and Epidemiology at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Basel in 2011 under Prof. Dr. Christoph R. Meier to conduct a PhD Thesis on the topic of Depression.
