Erica Coratella obtained her Master’s degree in Biotechnology for personalized medicine at Catholica University, Rome in 2021. During her internship she joined the group of Prof. Ruggero de Maria at the Department of General Pathology. The title of her Master thesis was “Engineering CAR-T cells: model system to test the functionality of CARs”. After her graduation, she got a scholarship to further evaluate the killing activities of CAR-T cells and to characterize a TAA recognized by the tested chimeric receptor.
In July 2022, she started a PhD at Novartis in the Advanced therapies and Methods development group of Dr. Silvana Libertini, in collaboration with Prof. Alex Odermatt. Her PhD project is aimed to assess the potential genotoxicity of the AAV-based gene therapy.
