Curriculum Vitae
Giulia obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Biomedicine from the University of Marburg, Germany. For her thesis, she joined the group of Prof. Dr. Michael Baumann at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in Heidelberg, where she investigated SOX2-dependent effects of radiotherapy in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
She completed her M.Sc. in Molecular Biosciences, majoring in Molecular and Cellular Biology, at the University of Heidelberg. For her master’s thesis, Giulia joined the In Vitro ADME department at F. Hoffmann-La Roche in Basel, Switzerland, where she focused on the rate-limiting role of hepatic drug transporters in the clearance of OATP1B substrates. She performed uptake studies in human hepatocytes and derived an empirical scaling factor to improve in vitro-to-in vivo extrapolation of hepatic clearance for ECCS class 1B/3B compounds.
In April 2025, Giulia joined the Biopharmacy group as a PhD candidate. Her research focuses on the further characterization of coproporphyrins as biomarkers in drug-drug interaction studies.
