Curriculum Vitae
Jennifer Mendes graduated in Biomedical Sciences in June 2024 from KU Leuven in Belgium. For her master’s thesis, she joined the research group of Prof. Dr. Mieke Verstuyf, where she investigated the occurrence of atypical nuclear receptor crosstalk involving the vitamin D receptor. She gave particular attention to the crosstalk between the VDR and AR nuclear receptors and how this affects AR-mediated transactivation. Jennifer joined the Molecular and Systems Toxicology group in August 2024 as a PhD student to investigate factors influencing corticosteroid receptor sensitivity in the context of immune and metabolic diseases.
