Julia Weber completed her Master’s degree in Pharmacy at the University of Basel and obtained her Swiss federal diploma as a pharmacist in 2021.

She is currently in the final year of a joint PhD programme between the University of Basel (Switzerland) and the University of Western Australia (Perth, Australia). Within the Pharmaceutical Care Research Group at the University of Basel, her doctoral research focuses on behavioural skills in pharmacy education. In particular, she investigates the assessment and development of behavioural skills such as communication, problem‑solving and situational awareness, which are required to prepare future pharmacists for person‑centred practice. Her research contributes to the integration of behavioural skills into pharmacy education.

Professional activities

Member of the MyDispense Netzwerk Deutschland, a collaborative network of educators and academic institutions using MyDispense, a virtual community pharmacy simulation, to support the teaching and assessment of technical and clinical pharmacy skills, including medicine dispensing and prescription validation.
