Leila Potzel is a licensed pharmacist who graduated from the University of Tübingen in 2022. In the same year, she joined the department of forensic toxicology of the institute for legal medicine at the Kantonsspital St. Gallen, where she worked on developing an innovative screening assay for the identification of synthetic cannabinoids in biological samples by LC-MS/MS. She further was responsible for the identification of drug levels, ethyl glucuronide and medication in hair samples using solid-liquid extraction and LC-MS/MS. Leila started her PhD studies in the Biopharmacy group in July 2023 focusing on the investigation of coproporphyrins as biomarkers for drug-drug interactions.
