Lorenz Herbster studied Pharmacy at Heidelberg University and obtained his federal diploma as a pharmacist in 2024. During his time as a pre-registration pharmacist in Jun. Prof. Philipp Uhls group at Heidelberg university, he gained research experience in Pharmaceutical Technology and Ophthalmology.

In January 2025, he joined the Pharmaceutical Technology research group of Prof. Dr. J. Huwyler at the University of Basel as a PhD student. His research focuses on developing novel gene delivery systems for rare genetic liver disease.
