Curriculum Vitae
Malik Rhakhmanov is a PhD candidate at the University of Basel since 2023 specializing in the enzymology of bacterial natural product biosynthesis. Before, he obtained a Pharmacy degree in 2021 at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena where he also completed his Diploma in Pharmacy in 2022 with his thesis "Investigating the Biosynthesis of Oligopeptidic Natural Products from Mortierella alpina."
Currently, Malik's research focuses on uncovering the underlying enzymatic mechanisms in bacterial natural product biosynthesis using structural biology and metabolomic techniques. His work involves studying how bacteria produce complex molecules through biosynthetic pathways, which has significant implications for drug discovery and biotechnology.
