Sophie Ebert studied Molecular Medicine at the Universities of Bonn and Göttingen (Germany) and graduated with a Master’s degree in 2023. For her Master’s thesis she investigated the therapeutic potential of combining SUMO- and PI3K inhibition for the treatment of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma at the lab of Prof. Dr. Günter Schneider at the University Medical Center Göttingen. Sophie joined the Molecular and Systems Toxicology group in June 2024 as a PhD student to conduct research on the role of hexose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase in lipid and energy metabolism.
