Valentin earned a Bachelor's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Basel in 2019, followed by a Master's degree in Biotechnology from ETH Zürich in 2021. During his studies, he gained extensive wet lab experience by working as a research assistant in various academic laboratories.

After graduation, he worked in the pharmaceutical industry at CSL for nearly three years in different departments, including research and analytical development. Over time, he took on broader responsibilities and was eventually promoted to the role of Senior Scientist.

In May 2024, he started his PhD in the Pharmaceutical Technology group at the University of Basel. His research focuses on the formulation and characterization of lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) for the efficient delivery of complex nucleic acid cargoes.
