She did her PhD studies and at the same time worked as a Researcher during 2014-2017 in the group of Prof. Vladimir N. Kokryakov at the Department of General Pathology and Pathological Physiology, at the Institute of Experimental Medicine in Saint Petersburg, Russia. She worked on the influence of natural animal antimicrobial peptides on human complement activation: she studied the binding of peptides to C1q and C3b molecules and assessed the modulation of complement system by human and non-human antimicrobial peptides. She defended the thesis named ”Modulation of complement system by antimicrobial peptides” in 2018. From December 2019 till January 2021 she worked as senior researcher at the Institute of Experimental Medicine in Saint Petersburg studying modified antimicrobial peptides’ influence on complement system activation. In February 2021 she joined the Molecular Pharmacy group of Prof. Daniel Ricklin as post-doctoral fellow at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Basel.
