Introduction to R course
Instructors: Dr. Dominic Bräm and Lukas Higi
The “Introduction to R course” is organized once a year by the PhD Program for Pharmaceutical Sciences. The next course will take place from 12.02.-14.02.2025.
In this “Introduction to R course”, you'll learn the essentials of coding and data analysis using R and RStudio. From setting up projects and managing data to key programming essentials such as loops, conditionals, and functions. You'll gain practical experience in cleaning, analyzing, and visualizing your data. With hands-on exercises throughout, this course is designed to get you started on working with your own data right away.
Dr. Dominic Bräm did his PhD in machine learning and pharmacometrics. He is working in the Pediatric Pharmacology and Pharmacometrics Research Center at the University Children’s Hospital of Basel. Dominic codes in R and Python and is using R for imputation, modelling, and the application of machine learning to clinical data.
Lukas Higi is doing his PhD in pediatric clinical decision support at the PEDeus AG, a subsidiary company of the Children’s Hospital of Zurich. As an external PhD student, he is associated with the Pharmacoepidemiology Group at the University of Basel. Lukas mainly uses R for cleaning, analyzing, and statistical modelling of clinical data.
