Emeriti

Like all other employees, our professors reach retirement age one day. When a professor retires, they receive the so-called emeritus status; they are "relieved" of their duties. Unlike retired employees, however, emeriti retain the right to teach beyond retirement age. They may continue to supervise assistants and - depending on operational possibilities - also continue their research at the university.

Since 2016, several professors at DPhS have reached retirement age and are listed as emeriti. The department thanks them for their contributions in teaching & research.
