«100 years of the University of Basel Pharmacy Museum»

The University of Basel's Pharmacy Museum celebrated its 100th anniversary in September. Accompanied by musicians from the Basel Symphony Orchestra, numerous visitors listened to the keynote speakers. Rector Prof. Dr. Andrea Schenker-Wicki spoke of the inestimable value of the university's historical collection, and State Councilor Dr. Conradin Cramer emphasized the importance of museums that confront us with questions that reach from the past into our present. Prof. Dr. Markus Lill drew attention to the added value of the Pharmacy Museum for the DPhW and mentioned the museum's latest research projects. Dr. Kurt Herberger referred to the historical and current challenges in pharmacy and their research by the DPhW. After a short speech by museum director Dr. Philippe Wanner on the anniversary motto “100 Years: Collecting, Researching, Marveling,” the festive gathering enjoyed a lavish aperitif in the museum's courtyard, received exclusive insights into the current special exhibition, and marveled at the magnificent, newly furnished meeting room.
