Diell Aliu graduated from the University of Basel as a Master in Drug Sciences in 2020.

In his master's thesis he investigated the activation of the Keap1-Nrf2 pathway by lapatinib in HepG2 cells, supervised by Prof. Dr. S. Krähenbühl.

He worked at Lonza DPS in Formulation Development on parenteral drug formulations before joining the Pharmaceutical Technology group of Prof. Dr. J. Huwyler as a PhD student in July 2022. His research currently focuses on the development of a phenotyping cocktail for clinical use based on mesoporous drug carriers.
