Milena Chraniuk graduated in pharmaceuticals biotechnology at Gdansk University of Technology (Gdansk, Poland). She received a scholarship from “Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt” to conduct research at the Fraunhofer Institute for Toxicology and Experimental Medicine, Hannover, Germany. This allowed her to study the influence of Volatile Organic Compounds on lung in vitro models.  She obtained a Ph.D. in medical and health sciences in 2021. Furthermore, she also worked as a biotechnologist in Polish companies in EU co-financed projects (Herbiopharm, Nanoexpo and Institute of Biotechnology and Molecular Medicine). In March 2022, she joined the Molecular and Systems Toxicology group, where she is responsible for the project ToxOligo to characterize toxicological properties of oligomers released from food contact materials.
