Dr. Chiara Jeiziner graduated from the University of Basel, Switzerland, and received the federal diploma as a pharmacist in 2017. After one year of practice in a community pharmacy, she joined Prof. Kurt Hersberger and the Pharmaceutical Care Research Group (PCRG) for her PhD thesis focusing on the “implementation of pharmacogenotyping in pharmaceutical care”. After completing her PhD, she gained further practical experience in the implementation of pharmaceutical services in community pharmacies. Following a temporary postdoctoral position with Prof. Marie Schneider in the adherence and interprofessionality group at the University of Geneva, she returned to Basel to join Prof. Samuel Allemann and the PCRG at in 2025.
Chiara Jeiziner is an enthusiastic community pharmacist keen on developing pharmaceutical services to ensure better healthcare for patients. Having worked a lot on pharmacogenetic testing, her interest goes into personalized medicine. Communication adjusted to a patient’s health literacy, interprofessional collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals, as well as a good teamwork within the pharmacy are key factors. Lately, her focus lies in pharmaceutical prescribing, an important service for the reinforcement of primary care.
She also is a lecturer in the Certificate of Advanced Studies “Offizinipharmazie”, a further education for graduated pharmacists.
