Sarina Kyburz completed her Master’s degree in Drug Sciences at the University of Basel in 2024. For her Master Thesis, she joined Dr. Kim Brouwer’s group at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (USA), under the supervision of Jacqueline B. Tiley. Sarina’s research focused on investigating hepatic transporter alterations in a human in vitro metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH) model, which she also presented at the ISSX/JSSX meeting 2024 in Hawaii. Before joining the Molecular and Systems Toxicology in August 2025, Sarina gained valuable industry experience at Novartis, working in Biotransformation and in vitro ADME. Her PhD project aims to investigate the role of H6PD in energy and redox metabolism.
