Curriculum Vitae
Madhuri Manivannan graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology from PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore, India. She then completed her Master's in Molecular Biology, specializing in Molecular Genetics, at Lund University, Sweden. She received an Erasmus mobility scholarship to conduct her master's thesis research in Hurtado Lab at NCMM, Oslo, Norway. There, she worked on identifying novel interaction partners of tamoxifen and their mechanisms of action in ER+ breast cancer. In May 2024, she obtained her PhD in Biomedicine from the Department of Biomedicine at University of Basel, Switzerland. Her PhD research, conducted in the lab of Prof. Momo Bentires-Alj at University Hospital Basel, focused on investigating mechanisms underlying the effects of Glucocorticoid Receptor activation in ER+ breast cancer metastasis. In August 2024, she began her postdoctoral research in the Molecular and Systems Toxicology group, where she is investigating the role of Hexose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase in glucocorticoid metabolism, redox regulation, energy metabolism, and cytokine production.
