Omar graduated as a pharmacist from Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt. He obtained his master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from ETH Zurich in early 2021. His master's thesis project was performed at Molecular Partners and focused on cancer immunotherapy and bispecific DARPins®, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Dario Neri.

After a 7-month internship in clinical development at Novartis in Basel, Omar started his PhD project at Roche Glycart in June 2021, in collaboration with the group of Molecular & Systems Toxicology and under the academic supervision of Prof. Dr. Alex Odermatt. His research project focuses on characterizing and optimizing the safety liabilities of T-cell bispecific antibodies (TCBs), a novel class of cancer immunotherapies.
