Jean-Pierre Rothen studied pharmacy at the University of Basel and graduated in 1989. In parallel to his practice in laboratory diagnostic he acquired his diploma as specialist for laboratory medicine FAMH in clinical chemistry in 1994 and accomplished his PhD thesis on the interaction of drug metabolism with hepatic N-acetyl transferases in 1999. He worked in the management of medical laboratories and was member of the FAMH board (medical laboratories of Switzerland) 2003 - 2012. He is head of Nutrimed and joined the PCRG in 2016.
