The influence of warmth on the immune system

Life and warmth are interconnected: human beings are creatures of warmth, and a disturbance in temperature can have a major impact on the well-being of the affected person. For this reason, the warmth parameter plays a decisive role in many complementary therapy concepts geared toward rebalancing this system and restoring health; this is especially the case with anthroposophical medicine. We systematically investigate the effects of warmth on the parameters of activity, function, and metabolism among different immune cells. Looking at the interior of the human body, researchers have described its different ‘compartments’ as having different temperature ranges. For this reason, we undertake the described experiments to assess whether these respective body niches influence the imprinting of immune cells and thus affect immune-cell differentiation.
